Can you actually tell the difference? (Summilux vs. Nokton)

I just posted a new comparison that might be a bit of a reality check for some of us. I put the Leica 50mm f/1.4 Summilux (Close Focus) head to head against the Voigtlander 50mm f/1.0 Nokton to see if the price gap actually translates to the final image.

A few things to watch for:



I’ve color-corrected these to my own taste, so make sure you read about that at the beginning of the post.



I included B&W samples where the lens has nowhere to hide, it's the best way to see how the lenses actually draw.



Look closely at the bokeh ball edges, at f/1.4, the physical aperture blades on the Nokton are the only real giveaway.
